I'm John Bulwich, founder of ADHD Space.
My passion is helping people with ADHD to understand themselves better and to recognise that, with the right support and environment, ADHD can be a real strength rather than simply a condition to be managed.
My work is informed by both lived experience and evidence-based practice. Through coaching, mentoring, training, and public speaking, I work with individuals, healthcare teams, educators, employers, and organisations to improve understanding of ADHD and to develop practical, person-centred approaches that make a meaningful difference.
Alongside this, I have a strong interest in supporting NHS and NIHR-funded research through Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE).
I believe that the people who live with a condition every day bring insights that are essential to good research. I enjoy working with researchers to ensure that study design, participant materials, recruitment strategies, and dissemination are informed by real-world experience and are relevant, accessible, and inclusive.
My aim is always to bridge the gap between research and lived experience, helping ensure that research is not only scientifically robust but also meaningful to the people it is intended to benefit. I value collaborative working, open communication, and co-production, and I am committed to helping research translate into better services and outcomes for people with ADHD and the wider neurodivergent community.
